Bayside Health was formed following the merger of Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health, Gippsland Southern Health Service, Kooweerup Regional Health Service and Peninsula Health on 1 January 2026.

Applications are invited from Senior Medical Staff for the following leadership positions within the Pathology Partnership:

• Chief Pathologist
• Program Director, Pathology Bayside: Alfred Care Group (ACG) & Western Health

The Pathology Partnership is a newly established network delivering high-quality diagnostic pathology services across ACG, Western Heath and Monash Health including contracted services to hospitals in South Gippsland.

The network spans multiple laboratories and collection centres and is focused on strengthening collaboration, clinical governance, service integration, education, research and innovation across pathology services.

Successful applicants will play a key leadership role in shaping the future direction of pathology services across the network and will work collaboratively with executive, clinical and operational leaders to support high-quality, patient-centred diagnostic services.

• The Chief Pathologist role provides network-wide clinical leadership and governance oversight, driving alignment of clinical practice, quality standards, workforce planning, education, research and strategic development across partner organisations. The role is responsible for establishing the clinical, governance and cultural standards expected across pathology services and supporting the ongoing development of an integrated pathology network.
• The Program Director, Pathology role provides clinical leadership and management of the Pathology Program, with responsibility for service delivery, medical workforce leadership, quality and risk management, education, training and research. Working closely with operational leaders, and the Chief Pathologist, the Program Director will support service development, clinical governance and priorities for the pathology services across the ACG and Western Health.
