The Medical Humanities Program Administrator administers the daily operational and administrative functions of the Medical Humanities program in the School of Humanities and Arts.

On-campus position: This position is exclusively on-site, requiring all duties to be performed in person at the Rice University campus.
The schedule will be 30 hours per week (0.75 FTE).
Per Rice policy 440, work arrangements may be subject to change.
Hiring Range: This exempt position is benefits-eligible and has an expected minimum salary of $43,000, dependent on experience and qualifications.
Exempt (salaried) positions under FLSA are not eligible for overtime.
Bachelor's degree

Familiarity with Rice University administrative systems (e.g., iO, Esther, CourseLeaf)
Administers daily operations of the Medical Humanities program with general guidance from the Program Director and Associate Director.
Assists with program administration, course scheduling, General Announcements, and curriculum maintenance.
Plans, coordinates, and executes program events, guest lectures, meetings, and academic conferences.
Monitors program budgets, tracks operational expenses, and completes routine financial reporting.
Recommends and implements outreach efforts, including digital and print marketing, newsletters, and program communications.
Maintains and updates the Medical Humanities program website and social media channels.
Provides front-line administrative support and guidance to faculty, students, and campus visitors.
Assists with student recruitment, management of program records, and support of student award and fellowship processes.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Processes faculty reimbursements
Processes procurement requests such as student awards, non-employee travel reimbursements, and honoraria for guest speakers
Coordinates program faculty hiring and reappointments
Administers inter-institutional programs (e.g., McGovern, Public Health, and practica)
Processes applications for program opportunities, awards, and funding
Supervises student assistants
