Alpena Cement Plant MI Job Req ID: 16253 Join our amazing team and contribute as a: Production Technician ABOUT THE ROLE This individual must demonstrate the ability to multitask based on the needs of the shift. In some instances, the employee may be required to work in excess of 8 hours per shift. The individual must be able to perform mechanical tasks, understand equipment operation and inspection, and will perform duties that are at times quite physical in nature. WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH Identify and correct any environmental issues noted during daily shift operations. Provide troubleshooting and process changes recommendations based on test results. To perform shift and pre-start inspections and insure that any safety or maintenance issues on the equipment are addressed. Ensure quality parameters, throughout every step of processes are maintained in accordance with Amrize and ASTM guidelines and procedures. Measure silos as needed Maintain raw material flow in hoppers, tanks and feeders, which at times requires manual labor to unplug blockages. Reporting any material flow problem that could adversely impact the manufacturing process. Clean around raw material hoppers, coke tunnel, and finish mill feeders, etc. as needed. Work any shift, including weekends and paid holidays as schedules dictate. Use safe work practices and report hazardous conditions as encountered on the job. Mobile equipment operation including, but not limited to, skid loader, forklift, man lift, telehandler, vac truck, load and dozer. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Education: High School diploma/GED Additional Education Preferred: Associates/Technical Degree Travel Requirements: Minimal Additional Requirements: Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
