A production team lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a manufacturing unit, ensuring that the production goals are met in a timely and efficient manner.
A production team lead assists the production supervisor in coordinating the activities of the production staff, monitoring the quality and quantity of the output, troubleshooting any issues or problems that arise, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
A production team lead also communicates with other departments, such as engineering, logistics, and quality control, to ensure smooth workflow and customer satisfaction.
Supervise and motivate the production team members, providing feedback and training as needed.
Monitor and report on the production performance, identifying and implementing improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations and policies.
Monitor product quality and make adjustments as needed to ensure specifications are met
Troubleshoot and solve any problems that arise during the course of work, escalating them to senior management when necessary.
Leads team in conducting daily safety checks on equipment, including forklift trucks, conveyor equipment, and specific portions of tractor-trailer and over-the-road trucks
Train or cross-train staff in other positions as needed
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, such as suppliers, customers, and auditors.
