Production Operator 2 – Touch-up Rework (Swing Shift)

Job Function: Production Reports To: Production Supervisor Location: Newark, CA

Job Overview: Intermediate-level role responsible for performing skilled touch-up rework tasks related to SMT operations with minimal supervision.

Ensures quality workmanship to IPC-A-610 standards while supporting team training and efficiency improvements.

• Perform advanced hand soldering and touch-up rework on SMT and through-hole components (including BGA, ICs, and jumper wires).
• Remove/install components per IPC-A-610 and process instructions.
• Touch up solder joints, trim leads, and clean PCBs using approved methods.
• Execute rework based on ECOs, Process Deviations, and MPI instructions using appropriate solder/flux types (Leaded/RoHS).
• Install and hand solder 2nd ops and SMT parts/components as required per documented processes.
• Inspect completed work against Class 3 workmanship criteria (latest revision).
