Production Manager

  • We are growing our operation and actively seeking an organized, strong communicator and process minded individual, with a focus on effective production management skills.
  • Working with other teams in the facility, the focus of this role is implementing & optimizing process, maximizing the labour force, safety focused, decrease overall waste and overall leadership of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage daily production activities to meet customer orders, inventory targets, and delivery deadlines.
  • Monitor production flow and adjust staffing, equipment usage, or processes as needed.
  • Provide supervisor/support staff with strong leadership and career development.
  • Ensure all products meet company standards for quality, consistency, and presentation.
  • Oversee all plant personnel including bakers, operators, and packaging personnel.
  • Create staffing schedules and manage labour to align with production needs and budget.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment with a strong focus on safety and performance.
  • Enforce food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures (HACCP, GMP, OSHA).
  • Conduct regular product, equipment, and facility inspections.
  • Partner with Quality Assurance teams to address defects, implement corrective actions, and maintain audit readiness.
  • Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize workflows.
  • Implement standardized operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Required: 5+ years of experience in food production; commercial bakery experience strongly preferred.
  • Required: Strong leadership skills with experience supervising hourly teams.
  • Required: ERP/MRP System required.
  • Required: Solid understanding of bakery processes (mixing, proofing, baking, cooling, packaging).
  • Required: Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Required: Ability to multitask and problem‑solve in a high‑volume environment.
  • Required: Strong organizational, communication, and time‑management skills.
  • Preferred: Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement principles.
  • Preferred: Experience managing semi‑automated bakery machinery or industrial production lines.
  • Preferred: Experience running a 24‑hour shift.
