Product Owner

The Health and Financial Solutions T eam is seeking a Product Owner to join our Agile team supporting the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to drive enhance ments to the Medicare Durable Medical Equipment (DME) claims processing .

The Product Owner is a driven leader and relationship builder who knows how to set, monitor, and measure progress toward product goals using Agile tools and methods.

As a Product Owner on our Agile development team, you will:

• Collaborate with CMS customers, end-users, and stakeholders to understand and anticipate needs, including those related to the DME system, and translate them into clear product requirements.
• Define and communicate the product vision, maintaining a product roadmap aligned to CMS and program goals.
• Manage the product backlog, prioritizing work based on evolving objectives and ensuring alignment with the product strategy.
• Oversee all stages of product development, including design, development, testing, and deployment of new features.
• Work closely with the team and customer to create, refine, and validate user stories that align with business and technical objectives .
• Partner with the Scrum Master to remove impediments and drive delivery of sprint and release goals.
• Monitor and evaluate product progress, reporting outcomes and updates to stakeholders and customers.
• Serve as a liaison between the product team, customer, and stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment.
• Facilitate and actively participate in Agile ceremonies.
• Leverage Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence to manage requirements, workflows, and documentation.
• Collaborate with Scrum Masters, Release Train Engineers and team members to continuously grow in the role and improve team performance.
• Empower the development team to deliver value while maintaining flexibility and focus on outcomes.
