Product Engineer

Our Engineering team is looking for a Product Engineer .

We are looking for a dynamic and driven candidate who is interested in joining a fast-growing global company in the automotive sector.

The Product Engineer is responsible for the development of new or modifications of existing Sealing/GHM products for the door systems.

Utilizing rubber and plastic injection mould, extrusion dies and production equipment from conception through full production implementation.

Knowledge in the selection of various materials and processes in a manufacturing setting are key areas that will set apart potential candidates.

designing for automated assembly and low cost is a plus.

Will also be required to support as the integrated engineer for GM programs at the GM tech center.

Other duties include: Works with OEM or Tier One to consult in the development process to ensure that the product meets all requirements of the customer specifications, manufacturability, tooling feasibility and quality objectives.

• Conceives and develops new products to meet objectives of management/customers by government, customer specifications and awareness of market needs. Discloses these ideas to engineering management, and evaluates their feasibility on an assigned basis (models, vehicle installations, etc.)
• Resolve issues, and technical problems through application of product knowledge of exterior sealing systems, engineering education, knowledge of industry practice and an awareness of new technologies.
• Responsible for supporting all technical base processes including, Project timing, DVP, DFMEA, VA/VE, Benchmarking, APQP, IMDS, Packaging, General tooling and assembly.
• Provides professional engineering assistance & consultation to other departments on technical matters relating to Exterior and Interior components with support to the sales and Cost estimation on an assigned basis.
• Organizes technical projects (program requests, cost estimates, program plans, etc.). Evaluate alternatives and initiate activities necessary to meet project objectives within a time and monetary budget. Reports weekly on progress and workload status.
