Role overview
Inspired is hiring a Procurement Specialist to join its Procurement team.
The role runs competitive tenders for energy supply and related contracts, negotiates supplier terms, recommends contract awards, and places approved contracts.
Work arrangement
- The role is home based with travel to the Kirkham, Lancashire office at least twice a month.
Role and responsibilities
- Run end-to-end RFI, RFP, and RFQ tender processes for energy supply and related contracts.
- Analyse pricing and supplier data, negotiate with suppliers, and prepare evidence-based contract award recommendations.
- Place approved contracts while ensuring accurate terms, pricing, and start dates.
- Maintain tender and contract records, liaise with internal stakeholders, and improve procurement processes.
- Read and comply with company health and safety policy and cooperate with managers and employees on statutory duties.
Essential experience
- Experience in procurement, tendering, or category management is required, ideally within energy or utilities.
- Demonstrable experience negotiating directly with suppliers on price and contract terms is required.
- Experience writing clear, structured commercial recommendations is required.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when preparing and placing contracts are required.
Desirable experience
- Experience of electricity or gas markets and pricing mechanisms is desirable.
- Experience using procurement or contract management systems is desirable.
- Strong communication, written reporting, Excel, organisation, and deadline-management skills are desirable.
