Role Overview
The Procurement Specialist supports procurement and sourcing within logistics and international trade operations.
The role focuses on supplier relationships, purchasing, shipment coordination, export documentation, cost efficiency, and supply chain risk management.
Procurement and Supplier Management
- Develop and implement procurement and sourcing strategies.
- Negotiate with vendors and build relationships with profitable suppliers.
- Approve and finalize purchases, contracts, and deliveries.
- Lead sourcing initiatives to improve cost efficiency and supplier performance.
Logistics and Documentation
- Coordinate outbound logistics and manage shipment schedules.
- Prepare export documentation, including invoices, packing lists, and delivery advice.
- Monitor and manage supply chain risks.
Analysis and Compliance
- Track procurement metrics to improve effectiveness and reduce costs.
- Conduct contract reviews and ensure compliance.
- Use data analytics for decision-making and reporting to management.
- Collaborate with internal departments to understand procurement needs.
Requirements and Skills
- Proven experience as a Procurement Specialist, Supply Chain Specialist, or in a similar role.
- At least 3 years of experience in a logistics company and in import/export operations.
- Strong knowledge of international shipping, Incoterms, and export documentation.
- Strong negotiation and networking skills.
- Proficiency in supplier management software and data analysis.
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
- Familiarity with international procurement markets and practices.
