Job Summary

  • The Procurement Officer is responsible for managing procurement activities for MEP projects, including sourcing materials, negotiating with suppliers, preparing purchase orders, monitoring deliveries, and ensuring cost effective purchasing while maintaining quality and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle procurement of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing materials for ongoing projects
  • Source quotations from approved suppliers and subcontractors
  • Compare prices, technical specifications, and delivery schedules
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders in coordination with management approval
  • Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers
  • Maintain proper procurement records, supplier database, and documentation
  • Coordinate with project engineers, storekeepers, and accounts department regarding material requirements and deliveries
  • Monitor material delivery status to ensure timely supply to project sites
  • Ensure purchased materials comply with project specifications and approved brands
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers and vendors
  • Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and cost saving opportunities
  • Follow company procurement policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field
  • Minimum 10 years of procurement experience in MEP contracting companies
  • Strong knowledge of MEP materials, brands, and UAE market suppliers
  • Experience in handling procurement for commercial, residential, and industrial projects
  • Good negotiation and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP/procurement software
