The Opportunity

Lead a high-performing procurement team and oversee strategic sourcing for important operational and construction projects.

Deliver fair, transparent, and compliant procurement processes while helping internal clients navigate complex purchasing decisions.

Report to the Senior Manager, Procurement and lead initiatives from strategy through contract award.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead construction, operational, and service procurements from planning through contract award.
  • Develop sourcing strategies and oversee RFx development, evaluation governance, negotiations, and award recommendations.
  • Advise leaders on procurement approaches, contracting strategies, risk management, and policy interpretation.
  • Develop procurement plans, define requirements, and support contract approvals with stakeholders.
  • Lead supplier negotiations while balancing commercial outcomes, risk, fairness, and transparency.
  • Manage and mentor a small procurement team through coaching and professional development.
  • Ensure documentation and processes meet legislative, policy, and audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Facilities, IT, and other departments on complex sourcing initiatives.
  • Monitor supplier performance, market trends, and emerging procurement practices.
  • Enhance processes, tools, templates, service delivery, ethical procurement, and sustainable sourcing.

What You’ll Bring

  • A degree in Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • An SCMP designation or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 to 7 years of progressive procurement experience, including public-sector procurement through BC Bid.
  • Experience leading or supervising a procurement team.
  • Success managing complex competitive procurements across construction, goods, and services.
  • Strong knowledge of public-sector legislation, trade agreements, governance frameworks, and RFx methodologies.
  • Experience with high-value, high-risk sourcing initiatives and procurement strategy development.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, stakeholder management, judgment, and attention to detail.

Compensation

  • The salary range for the position is $80,000 to $96,000.
  • Offers reflect internal pay equity and the qualified candidate’s experience and education.
