Job Summary

The Procurement Manager oversees sourcing and acquisition of goods and services needed for organizational operations.

The role manages procurement strategy, supplier relationships, contract negotiation, budgets, market monitoring, compliance, and process optimization.

Core Responsibilities

  • Use economies of scale and best practices to improve procurement outcomes.
  • Define and communicate supply strategy and align stakeholders.
  • Lead savings and operating cash flow programs for assigned categories, clusters, or business units.
  • Manage supplier relationships, external networks, and long-term partnerships.
  • Negotiate contracts and make timely procurement decisions.
  • Develop competitive insights and address market threats.
  • Manage budgets and optimize financial requirements.
  • Establish metrics, tools, and processes for sourcing and supplier efficiency.
  • Mitigate business risks and develop opportunities.
  • Drive continuous improvement, work simplification, and strategic sourcing excellence.
  • Remove barriers to internal and external customer service.
  • Support HSE initiatives, safety awareness, and incident reporting and resolution.

Job Knowledge and Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of sourcing, contracting, and supplier management is required.
  • Strong negotiation skills are needed to secure favorable supplier terms and pricing.
  • Analytical ability is needed for supplier assessment, cost analysis, savings, and process improvement.
  • Knowledge of market trends, industry dynamics, and regulatory requirements is required.
  • Leadership and team management skills are needed to lead procurement teams.
  • SAP functional skills and ERP knowledge are required for success in the role.

Experience and Education

  • The role requires at least 8 years of total work experience and 5 years of relevant experience.
  • GCC experience is a plus.
  • A bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Engineering is required.
  • A professional qualification in Supply Chain or Logistics, or a related technical certificate, is required.

Competencies

  • Risk management, supply chain optimization, materials management, e-procurement tools, purchasing benchmarking, agility, resilience, and quality leadership are identified competencies.
  • The role includes building high-performing teams and providing direction.
