Procurement Engineer

Perform procurement engineering analysis for qualified nuclear components, including commercial off-the-shelf and manufactured components. Support inventory analysis, forecasting, and procurement planning 18 to 36 months in advance to meet customer needs.

Coordinate vendor management activities during procurement, including requests for quotation, purchase requisitions, progress reporting, expediting, and delivery-date management. Provide direction to and check the work of assigned technical staff, and delegate project tasks as required.

Collaborate with project managers, technical staff, and internal and external customers to resolve technical issues, monitor procurement risks, support spend forecasts and accruals, and deliver effective procurement and inventory management solutions.

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

One to three years of experience in procurement engineering, with experience in the nuclear industry or a similar highly regulated sector.

Knowledge and practical experience applying applicable nuclear quality standards and procurement requirements, including N299 and N285, as applicable. Experience coordinating inventory and parts management across multiple projects and managing vendors to maintain delivery commitments.

Knowledge of Kinectrics procurement systems, or demonstrated ability to quickly learn internal procurement tools and workflows.

Ability to provide direction to assigned technical staff, check work related to technical issues, scope, cost, timeliness, and customer satisfaction, and support task delegation on shared projects.

Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to identify innovative procurement and inventory management solutions.

Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with project teams and internal and external customers in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated commitment to schedule adherence and quality assurance. OPG and Bruce Power security clearance is an asset. Ability to obtain and maintain nuclear site security clearance is required.

This role requires the successful candidate to complete the security clearance process. The security clearance process is conducted in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) and may take up to 12 months to complete.
