Role Description
The Procurement Director leads procurement strategy, sourcing, supplier management, and purchasing operations.
The role drives cost savings, efficiency, supply reliability, compliance, and procurement team performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop procurement strategies, policies, and procedures.
- Lead sourcing, purchasing, tendering, supplier selection, and commercial negotiations.
- Manage supplier relationships, contracts, performance, supply risks, and alternative sourcing.
- Monitor procurement costs, KPIs, savings, budgets, forecasts, and cost controls.
- Oversee purchase orders, quotations, bids, tenders, and procurement reporting.
- Coordinate procurement with finance, operations, and project teams.
- Improve procurement processes, systems, and operational efficiency.
- Lead, develop, and manage the procurement team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Extensive procurement and strategic sourcing experience.
- Strong supplier, contract, tender management, negotiation, and commercial management experience.
- Knowledge of procurement policies, processes, compliance, and risk management.
- Experience with SAP, Oracle, ERP, or e-procurement systems.
- Strong analytical, cost-control, decision-making, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to manage budgets, priorities, and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- CIPS, CPSM, or an equivalent certification is advantageous.
- UAE/GCC procurement experience is preferred.
