Role Overview
This is an entry-to-mid level procurement role supporting day-to-day purchasing operations and vendor relationships.
The position connects internal requisitioners, Operations, Warehouse, Finance, suppliers, and logistics providers.
The objective is to procure goods, raw materials, equipment, and services efficiently, cost-effectively, and on time.
Purchasing Operations
- Review purchase requisitions, verify specifications, obtain approvals, and convert approved requisitions into purchase orders.
- Dispatch purchase orders, track supplier production schedules, confirm delivery timelines, and resolve discrepancies.
- Follow up with suppliers and freight forwarders to manage lead times, bottlenecks, delivery impacts, and shortages.
Sourcing and Vendors
- Issue RFQs and obtain competitive supplier bids.
- Prepare price comparisons covering commercial terms, lead times, minimum order quantities, and quality benchmarks.
- Assist with negotiations on discounts, payment terms, freight terms, and delivery schedules.
- Maintain the vendor database and track supplier performance metrics and evaluations.
