Ever wondered how large industrial facilities identify and manage risk before incidents occur? Join our Process Safety team and gain hands-on experience applying risk management principles that help ensure the safe and reliable operation of some of Canada's largest energy assets.
Our Process Safety team identifies, evaluates, and manages process safety risks across Canadian Natural's operations in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia. Through activities such as Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), risk assessments, inspection deferral studies, and incident investigations, the team supports safe operations and continuous improvement.
As a Process Safety Engineering Student, you'll work closely with Operations, Process Engineering, Asset Integrity & Reliability Engineering, and other technical teams. You'll gain exposure to process safety systems, regulatory requirements, corporate standards, risk assessment methodologies, and the application of Canadian Natural's Corporate Risk Matrix. You'll also learn Root Cause Analysis (RCA) techniques and contribute to initiatives that support safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
