Process Engineering
- Review and approve P&IDs with project-specific markups based on project specifications and mass balance diagrams.
- Interpret heat and mass balance requirements and verify pressure, flow, storage level, dosing, and material details on P&IDs.
- Review and approve sizing and velocity calculations for fluid applications and mechanical equipment.
- Review and approve pump and blower sizing calculations for centrifugal, reciprocating, axial, and multistage equipment.
Technical Qualifications
- Understand P&IDs and read heat and mass balance diagrams.
- Understand pretreatment, filtration, and post-treatment processes.
- Interpret materials of construction, piping specifications, and applicable ASME, ASTM, API, and DIN codes and standards.
- Hold an engineering degree or master's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering.
- Have 8–12 years of relevant experience.
Equipment and Design Review
- Review and approve equipment lists, equipment weight calculations, valve lists, electrical load lists, and electrical load calculations.
- Review and approve technical packages for valves, instruments, bellows, ejectors, and other specialty items.
- Review and approve material take-offs from PIDs, facility arrangement drawings, hand sketches, and piping specifications.
- Review and approve fabrication drawings for puddle pipes, spools, beams, hangers, lifting modules, and insert plates.
Project and Vendor Coordination
- Evaluate vendors and technologies, identify cost-saving opportunities, negotiate technical evaluations, and verify technical bid alignment.
- Coordinate with modelers to monitor design progress.
- Lead project teams involving mechanical engineers, designers, and drafters.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, and other project metrics.
- Engage customers and regional stakeholders at project milestones and resolve customer, installation, and commissioning comments.
