Role Overview

Process Chemist in Syngene's Development Services division.

Perform laboratory and manufacturing-facility activities to transfer processes safely to pilot and commercial scale with reproducible results.

The job location stated in the description is Bangalore, Karnataka.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform experiments for process robustness, plant simulation, and process safety studies.
  • Conduct a minimum of two laboratory experiments during a working day and record all observations.
  • Synthesize reference standards, impurity markers, intermediates, and APIs for method development and customer needs.
  • Transfer experimental knowledge to the execution team for smooth implementation.
  • Generate technical transfer documents, development reports, and campaign reports.
  • Observe manufacturing batches and provide feedback to improve processes and prevent failures.
  • Execute scale-up activities with full compliance with safety, quality, and data integrity requirements.
  • Track impurities and explain differences logically within study groups.
  • Perform literature searches using SciFinder, Reaxys, and similar tools.
  • Meet individual contribution expectations under PRD guidelines.

Qualifications and Experience

  • MSc in Chemistry is required.
  • The stated experience range is 1–6 years.
  • Complete all assigned mandatory training related to data integrity, health, and safety on time.
  • Maintain compliance with Syngene quality standards and EHSS requirements.

Safety and Workplace Expectations

  • Follow safety protocols and EHSS requirements to protect self, teams, laboratories, and manufacturing facilities.
  • Contribute to procedures, practices, and systems that support safe operations and quality compliance.
  • Report at least one near miss or safety observation per year and communicate incidents and lessons learned.
  • Follow applicable Kavach standards and complete assigned LMS, classroom, and on-the-job safety training.
