Ensures day-to-day activities and procedure support meet customer needs and expectations within assigned area to meet surge needs when schedules, deadlines, and plant mission may be at risk.
In conjunction with Responsible Managers, establishes and monitors procedure priorities and assign procedure modification requests to technical writers.
Provides technical leadership and work direction in the Verification and Validation (V&V) of technical procedures against applicable requirements and structures, systems, and components to ensure procedures are technically accurate and are formatted correctly.
Supports maintenance of procedure database, compiling procedure data for the development of monthly metrics, coordinating procedure process assessments to verify compliance, and identifying, analyzing, and developing procedure process improvements.
Walks down equipment with engineers and end-users of procedures to research and develop new procedures, modify existing procedures, and validate the operational adequacy of procedures for applicable Production facilities, dimensional inspection, radiography, and product quality groups.
Ensures procedures are written to a level of detail consistent with the qualifications and training of the expected users.
Participates in procedure improvement activities (e.g., cycle time reduction; metrics improvement).
Serves as designee for the Y-12 Technical Procedures Manager in the absence of the Manager.
