Responsibilities
- Guide the Welding Engineering discipline and provide metallurgical consultative services to operations and PMT
- Develop Project Welding Qualification Execution Plan defining scope of Weld Procedures
- Review and approve all Project Weld Procedures with customer and Certifying Authority
- Select electrodes based on physical, chemical, and corrosion properties
- Manage welding school facility for workforce training and development
- Assist in support and development of automatic welding systems
- Complete welding consumable project specific requirements estimation and requisitioning
- Initiate 'Fit for Purpose' evaluations of nonconforming work
Requirements
- MS/M Tech/ME in Welding or BS/BE/B Tech in Welding/Metallurgy/Mechanical Engineering
- 8+ years directly related to Welding, Metallurgy and Materials, subsea pipelines
- C Eng/SenMemWeldI/Member of professional body preferred
- Welding Inspection Qualification preferred

Job Overview
- The Principal Welding Engineer is responsible for interpreting internal or external business issues and recommending best practices. They will solve complex Welding related problems and work independently with minimal guidance.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Guide the Welding Engineering discipline and Metallurgical consultative welding services to operations group and PMT for onshore & offshore projects
- Responsible for various deliverables from the Welding Engineering group
- Project Welding Qualification Execution Plan defining full scope of Weld Procedures
- Ensure proper priorities relevant to project schedules and review progress
- Review and approval of all Project Weld Procedures
- Appropriate selection of electrodes based on physical, chemical, and corrosion properties
- Review project schedules, material control reports, and welding consumable estimates
- Manage welding school facility for training and development
- Assist in support and development of automatic welding systems
- Review and estimates for bids
- Complete Welding consumable project specific requirements estimation, requisitioning, and monitoring
- Complete Readiness review for important offshore campaigns
Essential Qualifications and Education
- MS/M Tech/ME in Welding
- BS /BE/B Tech in Welding/Metallurgy/Mechanical Engineering
- 8+ years directly related to Welding, Metallurgy and Materials, subsea pipelines
- C Eng./SenMemWeldI/Member of professional body preferred
- Welding Inspection Qualification preferred
