Role overview
Axon 911 is developing modern 911 infrastructure with an AI intelligence layer for public safety agencies.
The role is a Principal Hardware Systems Architect serving as a founding leader within the Axon 911 hardware team.
The position owns system architecture and technical integration across electrical, RF, mechanical, thermal, and power domains.
System architecture and requirements
- Develop system architecture and diagrams spanning industrial design, electrical, RF, mechanical, software, and product management.
- Analyze power, thermal, and computational budgets and balance performance, size, and cost.
- Write and vet testable system requirements and maintain traceability from PRD through verification and validation.
- Lead concept studies, cross-discipline reviews, and system-level technical decisions.
Verification, risk, and production
- Own system-level verification and validation strategy and identify integration risks before certification and production.
- Perform risk analysis, develop mitigation strategies, and close the loop on characterization and verification results.
- Partner with ODM, JDM, and manufacturing teams on DFM/DFA, engineering builds, and production readiness.
