Role Overview
Axon 911 is building modern 911 infrastructure with an AI intelligence layer for public safety agencies.
The role owns system architecture and technical integration across electrical, RF, mechanical, thermal, and power domains.
The position is a founding leadership role within the Axon 911 hardware team, shaping standards and processes for mission-critical hardware.
System Architecture and Design
- Develop system architecture spanning industrial design, electrical design, RF integration, mechanical design, software, and product management.
- Create system architectures, block diagrams, and interaction diagrams to guide implementation.
- Analyze power, thermal, and computational budgets while balancing performance, size, and cost.
- Lead concept studies with internal and external development teams and present recommendations.
Requirements, Leadership, and Risk
- Write and vet clear, testable system requirements and review product requirements for next-generation devices.
- Simulate and estimate subsystem capability, managing traceability from PRD through verification and validation.
- Lead cross-functional design reviews, resolve competing engineering constraints, and direct EE, RF, and ME leads.
