About the Role
Focal Middle East is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to lead structural design and delivery of building projects in Dubai. The role requires strong technical background, client-facing experience, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities
- Lead the structural design and delivery of building projects from concept through detailed design and construction support
- Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary design teams to ensure successful project outcomes
- Act as the primary client contact for structural engineering matters and attend client, consultant, and design coordination meetings
- Review and approve structural calculations, reports, specifications, and drawings
- Ensure compliance with relevant local and international design standards and codes
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to engineers and technicians
- Support project planning, resource allocation, and commercial performance
- Contribute to business development activities, proposal preparation, and client presentations
- Foster strong relationships with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (Master's Degree preferred)
- Minimum 10 years of experience within a structural engineering or multidisciplinary design consultancy environment
- Proven experience in the design and delivery of building projects across residential, commercial, hospitality, mixed use, healthcare, education, or similar sectors
- Strong client facing and stakeholder management experience
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing engineering teams and project delivery
- Sound understanding of structural design principles, analysis software, and international design codes
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship building skills
- UAE/GCC project experience is highly desirable

What We Are Looking For
