Principal Software Engineer - Full stack Lead - PA26ITOFFQ3063

SS&C GIDS serves the alternative investments, asset and wealth management, banking and lending, insurance, and real estate industries.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Lead to oversee the technical aspects of our projects and ensure they are delivered on time and to the highest standards. This role provides technical leadership to a team of software development engineers and works closely with Solution Designers and Engineering Managers to ensure projects progress smoothly and that any issues are identified and resolved in a timely manner.

Lead a team of developers, ensuring they are meeting project deadlines and adhering to the digital technical strategy

Mentor team members and promote a culture of learning, growth, and continuous improvement

Participate in the technical design and development of projects

Collaborate with the Project Manager to ensure that project requirements are met

Identify and resolve technical issues in a timely manner

Evaluate new technologies, including AI-assisted development tools, and make recommendations to the team and Solution Designers/Architects

Ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget

Develop and maintain technical documentation

Work closely with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business requirements

Keep stakeholders updated on the progress of projects

Understand the compliance obligations of the role and ensure that there are controls to meet them, raising any concerns related to poor compliance or risk management

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent industry experience

• 8+ years' experience as a Senior Engineer or in a similar role, including at least one year in a Tech Lead or team leadership role

• Strong technical skills and experience with Java, Spring Boot, Angular (v16+), TypeScript, web development tools and frameworks, relational databases, and software engineering principles and best practices

• Excellent leadership and management skills, with a track record of successful project delivery

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines

• Experience with Agile development methodologies

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), Docker, and Kubernetes

• Ability to translate business and technical requirements into actionable solution designs

• Contributions to open-source projects or a strong online presence in the tech community will be highly regarded
