Oracle is hiring a Principal Software Engineer for the OCI Network Automation team in Bangalore.
The role designs, implements, and optimizes distributed-system components with emphasis on scalability, resiliency, operability, and high-volume processing.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop services, automated workflows, and infrastructure for a growing fleet of networking devices.
- Deliver highly available and secure OCI Networking infrastructure.
- Own onboarding of next-generation network technologies, deployment tooling, patching, fleet monitoring, automation, and access controls.
- Build distributed fleet-management automation and deployment and monitoring tools for scale and performance.
- Improve deployment efficiency across global regions and participate in on-call monitoring of fleet and services.
- Use runbooks, alarming, tooling, tests, dashboards, and telemetry to improve operations and mitigate issues.
- Review peer implementations for quality and scalability and participate in incident response and root cause analyses.
Basic qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of software development experience.
- At least 5 years of Linux System Engineering experience.
- At least 5 years with Python, Bash, or Java.
- At least 1 year of DevOps experience.
- Proficiency with build tools and pipelines such as TeamCity, Maven, or Make.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in CI/CD environments.
- Agile development experience.
- Prior cloud infrastructure experience.
- Experience automating networking device management.
