Overview
Microsoft’s Silicon, Cloud Hardware, and Infrastructure Engineering team develops infrastructure and foundational technologies for Azure and other online services.
The team is developing next-generation hardware and firmware for Cobalt and Maia systems to secure Azure infrastructure.
The role focuses on SoC architecture, SoC bring-up, and root-cause analysis across multiple firmware and hardware subsystems.
Responsibilities
- Participate in pre-silicon, post-silicon, and datacenter deployment phases of product development.
- Define validation plans, test cases, frameworks, tools, methodologies, and coverage with architecture and development teams.
- Develop SoC and platform validation methods that improve debugging speed, automation, coverage, and concurrent deployment testing.
- Debug hardware and firmware interface issues and coordinate system software integration and validation across SoC firmware, BIOS, and BMC.
- Define test stimulus and content, address architectural and execution gaps, mentor team members, and validate alignment with product goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a similar field.
