Collins Aerospace is seeking Engineers to be part of a Field Engineering team for the AF DCGS High Band Mission Applications Software (HBMAS) Sustainment program. Under this effort, RTX Collins personnel will oversee/perform software sustainment for cloud-enabled systems that ingest, tag, and audit data sets, while maintaining security, integrity, and availability of data. The team, working with our customers and users, will focus on sustaining operationally relevant system capabilities in the most effective and efficient manner. The team will apply best practices across the engineering continuum, with a focus on improved software quality and process efficiency.
This requisition is open to candidates willing to work with a well-established and evolving team at Langley AFB, Virginia.

The Field Service Engineer is responsible for deploying and supporting software solutions within the Air Force SIL environment, serving as the technical liaison between commercial development cycles and AF‐DCGS operational requirements.

This role ensures that software releases meet compliance, security, and operational readiness standards while supporting site deployments, troubleshooting, and collaboration with Air Force counterparts.
The Field Service Engineer plays a critical role in validating system performance, supporting acceptance testing, and ensuring secure, reliable integration in mission environments.
Qualifications You Must Have
Active and transferable TS/SCI U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
Current DoD 8570.1 IAT Level II or IAM Level I certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA Security, CySA+, CAP, etc.)
Expertise navigating RMF compliance processes, DISA STIG implementation, and associated documentation
Experience managing CI/CD pipeline activities in support of deployment and release processes
Strong background in containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
Experience performing ACAS/SCAP vulnerability scanning and interpreting results
Proficiency troubleshooting complex system issues in mission or operational environments
Experience working with Cross Domain Solutions and performing Site Acceptance Testing
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
Qualifications We Prefer
Familiarity with Air Force SIL environments or AF‐DCGS mission systems
Experience supporting field deployment activities, customer coordination, and on‐site technical liaison functions
Knowledge of secure cloud or hybrid deployment environments
Experience integrating containerized systems into operational environments with strict cybersecurity requirements
Strong communication skills for coordinating between engineering teams, customers, and mission operators
