Role Overview

WSP is seeking a Principal Engineer – Water for its Transport and Infrastructure business unit.

The role focuses on large-scale water, hydrology, and wet utilities projects across the UAE, with work based in the Dubai or Sharjah team context.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead water infrastructure design and delivery covering potable water, stormwater, foul sewerage, TSE and irrigation networks, and hydrological systems.
  • Provide technical leadership, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and deliver reports, models, specifications, drawings, tender documents, and studies.
  • Lead client engagement, authority submissions, approvals, quality assurance, mentoring, and technical strategy.
  • Support proposals, bids, business development, client relationships, and adoption of sustainable water engineering solutions.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 10–12+ years of water infrastructure, hydrology, or wet utilities engineering experience.
  • Large-scale UAE water or wet utilities project experience and knowledge of authority standards and approvals are essential.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and complex infrastructure delivery is required.
  • A relevant master's degree is preferred.

Technical and Professional Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in hydrological and hydraulic modelling tools, including InfoWorks, EPANET, WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, StormCAD, Civil 3D, or similar platforms.
  • Strong technical writing, communication, client-facing leadership, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to navigate local regulations and maintain relationships with local authorities.
  • Commitment to innovation, sustainable design, and continuous improvement.
