Contribute to the growth of the utilities infrastructure design team delivering water sector assets including pumping stations, sewerage and stormwater networks (gravity and pumped), storage reservoirs, and treatment works (potable water or wastewater).
Lead and perform advanced wet utility design tasks, ensuring designs and drawings are checked and reviewed to the required standards and quality.
Undertake and oversee 1D and 2D hydraulic modelling and wet utility calculations using industry-standard software.
Ensure clear understanding of project scope and deliverables, supporting Associates in managing project delivery to meet deadlines and prescribed quality standards.
Provide regular technical input and status updates, highlighting project progress, risks, issues, or changes to the line manager/Associate.
Attend and contribute to team and project meetings, supporting collaboration and maintaining positive team morale.
Coordinate with all other design team members and direct CAD Technicians concerning requirements and timelines, ensuring alignment with modelling outputs.
Mentor and guide junior and senior engineers in design development, modelling, and report preparation.
Stay updated with relevant technical developments within the discipline.
Ensure weekly submission of timesheets and embed Health & Safety into all work practices in line with company policies.
Support the company’s approach to sustainability and identify improvements to enhance WSP ME’s service to clients.
Key Competencies / Skills:
Mandatory skills
12–15 years of experience in a consulting firm, delivering designs and calculations of wet utilities including pumping stations, sewerage and stormwater networks (gravity and pumped), storage reservoirs, treatment works (potable water or wastewater), and treated sewage effluent.
Strong expertise in WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, StormCAD, and experience with 1D/2D hydraulic modelling tools.
Awareness of GCC standards and manuals, with ability to apply international and regional design codes.
Computer literate, with proficiency in modelling software and supporting calculations using Excel or equivalent tools.
