Workplace

  • The role is designated as hybrid, with regular work both onsite and offsite.
  • Responsibilities must be performed onsite regularly at the Bengaluru Northgate location.

Role Overview

Perform advanced structural analysis and support project execution for aerospace compressor hardware.

Support engineering capability development, technical quality, process improvement, and collaboration across structural engineering teams.

Structural Analysis and Execution

  • Perform ANSYS finite element analysis for stress, vibration, low-cycle fatigue life, and residual-life prediction using fracture mechanics.
  • Support successful project execution using Engineering Standard Work and drive delivery of project commitments with high technical quality.
  • Collaborate with project and discipline stakeholders to resolve key structural problems.

Technical Communication and Planning

  • Write clear substantiation documentation and provide impactful technical presentations to internal and external customers.
  • Support planning and management of technical tasks, milestones, resources, and employee development.
  • Contribute to Pratt & Whitney IEC and global structural engineering discipline forums.

Training and Development

  • Support the manager in developing capable and proficient structural engineers in CSE.
  • Provide classroom and on-the-job training on structural methods, tools, and processes.
  • Coach and mentor young structural engineers and interns.

Continuous Improvement

  • Develop and incorporate new ways to advance technology and improve processes as an individual and team contributor.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering with 13+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering with 11+ years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent structural analysis experience on compressor hardware, especially rotors, casings, and kinematics.
  • Strong technical skills in structural engineering tools and methods.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness working across functions, organizations, and management levels.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Broad understanding of gas turbine engine fundamentals and associated components.
  • Ability to drive tasks to completion through disciplined execution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing gas turbine engine compressor hardware is preferred.
  • Collaboration, innovation, initiative, knowledge sharing, and professional development of others are preferred.
