Role Overview

Principal structural engineering role supporting aerospace compressor hardware and CSE engineering capability.

The position is identified as hybrid, with regular onsite and offsite work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support development of highly proficient structural engineers and successful project execution using Engineering Standard Work.
  • Perform ANSYS finite element analysis for stress, vibration, low-cycle fatigue, and residual-life prediction.
  • Prepare substantiation documentation and technical presentations for internal and external customers.
  • Plan and manage technical tasks, milestones, resources, and employee development.
  • Train, coach, and mentor structural engineers and interns.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve structural problems and improve processes.
  • Contribute to global structural engineering discipline forums.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering plus 13+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree plus 11+ years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent structural analysis experience on compressor hardware, especially rotors, casings, and kinematics.
  • Strong structural engineering tools and methods knowledge.
  • Effective cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.
  • Understanding of gas turbine engine fundamentals and associated components.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing gas turbine engine compressor hardware.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Record of collaboration, innovation, initiative, and knowledge sharing.
  • Interest in mentoring and professional development of others.

Workplace

  • Hybrid employees work regularly both onsite and offsite, and the role requires onsite work on a regular basis.
