Role Overview

Serve as a Principal Engineer in structural engineering within RTX aerospace operations.

Support advanced structural engineering execution, technical quality, capability development, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support development of highly proficient structural engineers and project execution using Engineering Standard Work.
  • Perform ANSYS finite element analysis for stress, vibration, low-cycle fatigue life, and residual life prediction.
  • Prepare substantiation documentation and technical presentations for internal and external customers.
  • Manage technical tasks, milestones, resources, and employee development.
  • Train, coach, and mentor structural engineers and interns.
  • Resolve structural problems with project and discipline stakeholders.
  • Advance technology and processes and contribute to structural engineering forums.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 13 or more years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 11 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent structural analysis experience on compressor hardware, particularly rotors, casings, and kinematics.
  • Strong structural engineering tools and methods knowledge.
  • Experience working across functions, organizations, and management levels.
  • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Broad understanding of gas turbine engine fundamentals and associated components.
  • Ability to drive tasks to completion through disciplined execution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing gas turbine engine compressor hardware.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A record of collaboration, innovation, initiative, and knowledge sharing.
  • Interest in mentoring and developing others.

Workplace

  • This is a hybrid role in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, with regular onsite and offsite work.
