Job Description Summary
GE Vernova is accelerating reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy systems while supporting electrification and decarbonisation.
The Principal Engineer for Power Systems serves as a technical visionary in the Advanced Research team.
The role shapes research strategy across electrification, renewables, and power businesses and influences multidisciplinary R&D direction.
Essential Responsibilities
- Shape Electrification research strategy, generate breakthrough ideas, and foster external collaborations.
- Architect solutions across complex electrical grid systems from generation to load.
- Own difficult technical challenges in power systems and convert innovation into organisational strategies and solutions.
- Align leaders and stakeholders around major technical opportunities and high-stakes technical decisions.
- Adapt GenAI tools to improve scientific output, validate AI-assisted work, and mentor others in responsible use.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Doctorate in Electrical Engineering with 15+ years of experience, or a master's degree in Electrical Engineering with 18+ years of experience.
