Job Purpose
The Principal Engineer provides technical leadership in the design, development, and delivery of enterprise software solutions.
The role combines hands-on software engineering with architectural leadership to deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable applications.
The engineer partners with Product Management, Quality Assurance, DevOps, and other engineering teams.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead architecture, design, and development of enterprise web applications using .NET, Angular, and SQL Server.
- Develop backend services, RESTful APIs, and frontend interfaces following modern engineering practices.
- Provide architecture reviews, code reviews, mentoring, and technical guidance to engineering teams.
- Evaluate business requirements, estimate technical effort, and define implementation strategies with stakeholders.
- Drive coding standards, secure development, automated testing, and continuous integration.
- Resolve complex technical challenges, production issues, and performance bottlenecks across the application stack.
- Lead modernization initiatives, including framework upgrades and cloud adoption where appropriate.
- Improve deployment automation, monitoring, scalability, and reliability with DevOps teams.
- Reduce technical debt and contribute to release planning, documentation, and continuous improvement.
- Mentor engineers and promote knowledge sharing, technical growth, and engineering excellence.
Required Experience and Skills
- At least 10 years of professional software development experience, including enterprise web application development.
- Experience leading technical design and architecture for full-stack applications.
- Experience mentoring engineers, influencing technical decisions, and collaborating across teams.
- Experience in Agile software development and customer-facing production software delivery.
- Business-level English proficiency in written and verbal communication is mandatory.
- Expert C# and .NET/.NET Core development experience, including .NET Core Web API and RESTful APIs.
- Strong Angular, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, responsive web design, and SQL Server experience.
- Experience with authentication, authorization, Git, CI/CD, DevOps, distributed systems, and performance troubleshooting.
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline is required.
Preferred Skills
- Docker and containerized application experience are preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure or AWS is preferred.
- Microservices, event-driven systems, automated testing, legacy modernization, messaging, and asynchronous processing are preferred.
- Relevant Microsoft or cloud certifications are desirable but not mandatory.
Leadership and Professional Skills
Strong technical leadership, decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving abilities are expected.
The role requires communication of complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong stakeholder management, cross-functional collaboration, mentoring, and long-term architectural vision are expected.
