The role
The Principal Engineer, Frontend is the cross-cutting technical authority for frontend engineering across Ubank's web, mobile, and static web properties.
The shared codebase uses Angular and Ionic Capacitor.
The role leads the frontend chapter and owns architecture, testing strategy, accessibility, performance, component library design, and observability.
Key responsibilities
- Define frontend architecture across Angular, Ionic Capacitor mobile, and static web properties.
- Set standards through RFCs and ADRs for component patterns, state management, routing, and code splitting.
- Own component library reuse, versioning, contributions, and Storybook documentation.
- Define accessibility testing, audit cadence, and WCAG 2.1 AA CI quality gates.
- Establish testing across unit, integration, end-to-end, visual regression, and accessibility layers.
- Set Core Web Vitals performance budgets and continuous bundle monitoring.
- Establish Sentry, real user monitoring, and UX metric practices.
- Lead the frontend chapter and promote knowledge sharing and cross-squad collaboration.
Your experience
- 12 or more years of frontend engineering experience, including at least five years in a senior or staff capacity providing cross-team technical leadership.
