As a Principal Engineer, Engineering Project Management, you will lead the AMP Development Core Team. This role may involve managing 2 to 5 projects simultaneously. The position is responsible for overseeing a variety of activities, including requirements documentation, detailed design, development, verification, validation, and product launch or release.
What You Will Do
Lead team 2 including HW, SW, ME, System Engineer, product sourcing, development quality and validation engineer being responsible for delivering product design that meets HARMAN and customer requirements and delivers the design on time and function throughout the lifecycle.
Act as a core team member in Team1 with Customer Program Manager, Sales, Customer Quality and Industrialization Project Manager for development and launch of a compelling product that meets customer requirements and promotes customer satisfaction.
Document/manage HARMAN and customer requirements (including product compliance to statutory and regulatory laws, product compliance (material and certifications).
Develops and executes project based on AMP engineering process.
Responsible on releasing design to factory/effective change management.
Responsible on AMP technical tradeoffs discussion (cost, performance, DFM, timing).
Foster positive environment to create high-achieving team: treat all members with respect, encourage constructive dissent, re-focus team members when they get off-track, give positive feedback whenever it is appropriate, maintain a positive attitude, and reallocate resources in order to meet team commitments.
Define tasks to be performed by cross-functional team in developing systems. Use task list to create a work breakdown structure. Use work breakdown structure to establish program schedule. Establish program budget and manage program budget.
Ensure prompt decision-making executed by promoting consensus decisions, intervening when consensus decision-making fails, and making unilateral decisions in the case of a deadlock. Understand all of the technical details of the products used in all systems, both acoustic and mechanical.
Negotiate resource allocations from functional managers. When a resource conflict occurs, negotiate a solution with functional managers and other program managers; serve as lead program interface with sales.
Identify program issues as early as possible and drive resolution at the team level. If resolutions require management intervention, escalate to appropriate management personnel with proposed alternatives.

Bachelor’s degree in related engineering field.
5~8 years (or above) of product development experience of complex systems in automotive.
Strong engineering process or product experience (e.g. IATF16949, ASPICE or CMMI).
Effective interpersonal skills with peers, leaders, global teams, and industry forums.
Capable of handling multiples projects/initiatives simultaneously to completion.
Desire to maintain skills and master new technologies.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree in related engineering field, Master, Ph.D. and/or MBA.
Results-Driven: Having a proactive, goal-oriented approach to decision making.
Clear and strategic thinker; proven experience in translating strategies into actionable plans
