Role overview
Design and deliver stormwater drainage systems from concept through construction support.
Provide technical expertise, quality oversight, and multidisciplinary coordination for mining and major infrastructure projects.
Support technical excellence, client relationships, and capability growth within the Mining group.
Core responsibilities
- Support project managers in delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Undertake hydrology and hydraulic analysis for roads, rail, and urban development projects.
- Design stormwater networks, culverts, drains, detention systems, overland flow paths, and flood mitigation measures.
- Perform bridge opening hydraulic design, including scour depths and rip rap sizing.
- Prepare drainage reports, calculations, technical drawings, and design documentation.
- Develop and review 2D and 1D flood models using TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, and DRAINS.
- Lead drainage design reviews with clients and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
- Use digital engineering and simulation tools to assess water-related risks and mitigation measures.
Requirements
- 13–17 years of civil engineering experience in a consulting firm or EPCM environment is preferred.
