RTX’s Pratt & Whitney India Engineering Center in Bengaluru is seeking a data science and analytics expert for Aftermarket & Sustainment Engineering.
The role develops, deploys, and supports machine learning and statistical models for forecasting, prediction, and prescriptive solutions.
The solutions support digital maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities for gas turbine engine repairs and overhauls.
Workplace
- The position is classified as hybrid, with regular work both onsite and offsite.
- The ratio of onsite work will be determined in partnership with the employee’s leader.
Key responsibilities
- Identify strategic data science and analytics opportunities that enhance operations and support the long-term DMRO roadmap.
- Develop advanced analytics solutions using DMRO data to provide actionable insights and support data-driven decisions.
- Oversee Power BI dashboard creation for the MRO network.
- Lead the definition, prototyping, testing, deployment, and monitoring of complex machine learning and statistical models.
- Lead cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives and manage multiple high-priority projects.
- Use agile and Scrum practices to guide team dynamics and project execution.
- Mentor senior engineers and other team members through technical guidance and knowledge transfer.
- Own complex technical challenges and serve as the escalation point for critical issues.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 10 or more years of experience, or advanced degree with 8 or more years of experience, in data science, engineering, mathematics, or statistics.
- At least 6 years of experience building machine learning or statistical models.
- At least 3 years of experience using SQL or Databricks.
- At least 3 years of experience developing solution architecture.
- Proficiency in machine learning tools and programming languages such as Python.
- Strong communication, teamwork, judgment, professional maturity, and creative problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with sprint, Scrum, and PI ceremonies.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in the aerospace domain.
- Experience with Databricks and Power BI dashboard development.
- Familiarity with agile practices and the Scrum Master role.
- Ability to connect technical expertise with business needs.
