Work Arrangement

  • The position is hybrid and located at the Bengaluru Northgate site in Yelahanka Hobli, Karnataka, India.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis of aircraft components and assemblies within an integrated engineering team.
  • Perform load calculations and static strength, fatigue, damage tolerance, buckling, and vibration analyses as applicable.
  • Evaluate structural integrity using classical hand calculations and finite element analysis.
  • Develop and validate FEA models, including idealization, meshing, boundary conditions, load application, and result interpretation.
  • Analyze metallic and composite structures, including joints, fasteners, lugs, and load-transfer mechanisms.
  • Prepare and review strength check notes and formal stress reports.
  • Lead technical problem solving, root-cause analysis, design trade studies, and structural optimization.
  • Review and approve analyses performed by other engineers and provide technical guidance and mentoring.
  • Support structural testing, analysis-test correlation, and aircraft certification activities.
  • Collaborate with design, loads, materials, manufacturing, test, certification, and global engineering teams.
  • Drive process improvements, automation, standardization, and knowledge sharing.
  • Own technical deliverables and support schedule, cost, OTD, FPY, and other engineering metrics.

Basic Qualifications

  • BE, B.Tech, ME, or M.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 12 to 16 years of relevant aerospace structural analysis experience.
  • Strong knowledge of solid mechanics, structural mechanics, machine design, and aircraft structures.
  • Knowledge of metallic and composite materials and structural analysis.
  • Strong understanding of structural load paths, failure modes, and structural response.
  • Experience with Nastran/Patran, HyperMesh, or equivalent FEA tools.
  • Knowledge of fatigue, damage tolerance, buckling, and structural substantiation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in technical leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional or global team collaboration.
  • Knowledge of aircraft design, materials, manufacturing processes, and certification requirements is desirable.
  • Python, MATLAB, or VBA scripting and automation skills are desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
