Why this role
Get involved early in a major greenfield rail project and influence its electrical design solutions.
Work as a principal-level subject matter expert across complex HV, LV and traction power packages.
Contribute throughout the design lifecycle, including interdisciplinary coordination, technical reviews and verification.
Act as a technical reference authority and mentor engineers within your discipline.
Collaborate with clients, interface teams and multidisciplinary engineering specialists.
Build a long-term career with UGL’s strong project pipeline and the stability of the CIMIC Group.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and review electrical engineering solutions across HV, LV and relevant traction power design packages.
- Produce and check drawings, calculations and technical specifications for major electrical equipment, including switchboards and uninterruptible power supply systems.
- Review design outputs to ensure they satisfy project, safety, environmental, construction, commissioning and operational requirements.
- Coordinate electrical designs across disciplines and work with internal and external interface and integration teams.
- Participate in design reviews and electrical technical working groups, resolving technical issues with clients and project stakeholders.
- Monitor the programme and cost of allocated design tasks, escalating changes or delivery risks where required.
- Act as a technical reference authority while mentoring engineers and supporting a high-performance engineering culture.
