Role Profile
Principal Developer in the IP Development team providing senior technical leadership and architectural direction across squads.
The role works with Lead Developers, Engineering Managers, Product Managers, and cross-functional teams to guide technical strategy and engineering delivery.
The position is based remotely in the UK and lists an assigned office on York Road, London.
Responsibilities
- Lead architectural design decisions, including technology stacks, integration patterns, and hosting approaches.
- Define engineering standards and non-functional requirements for performance, scalability, availability, and resilience.
- Review security considerations, integration strategies, and technical readiness ahead of major releases.
- Run proofs of concept, identify innovation opportunities, and maintain technology alignment across squads.
- Oversee shared libraries, APIs, and platform components for quality, reliability, and reusability.
- Mentor Lead Developers and senior engineers and lead root-cause analyses for critical issues.
Person Specification
- Extensive senior engineering experience with architectural leadership and cross-team technical governance responsibility.
