Team and Platform
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure’s Internal Oracle Database team is a Tier-0 team supporting the data platform behind virtually every OCI service.
The team provides fully managed database services for mission-critical OCI workloads and dedicated cloud environments.
Role Overview
The role combines software development engineering, database administration, database architecture, automation, and cloud infrastructure.
The engineer will help build and operate scalable, reliable, and automated database services for OCI foundational workloads.
The position focuses on converting operational knowledge into software, automation, and self-healing capabilities.
Core Responsibilities
- Design and operate large-scale database platform services and resilient distributed systems across global cloud regions.
- Automate database provisioning, lifecycle management, monitoring, patching, upgrades, backup, recovery, and fleet operations.
- Partner with database architects, SREs, and OCI service teams to deliver reliable data platforms.
- Improve reliability, scalability, observability, security, performance, and operational efficiency for Tier-0 services.
