Job description
Design, implement and maintain infrastructure supporting customer AI and machine learning initiatives.
Work with customer technical teams and internal cloud services teams to deploy AI/ML solutions securely, efficiently and at scale.
Troubleshoot proof-of-concept and production deployments while optimizing performance, reliability and cost-effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Lead AI/ML infrastructure design and architecture.
- Implement and maintain reliable AI/ML infrastructure.
- Collaborate with customers to provide tailored infrastructure solutions.
- Integrate AI/ML solutions into the cloud platform.
- Securely deploy AI/ML models and data.
- Monitor performance and resolve infrastructure bottlenecks.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote knowledge sharing.
- Document infrastructure designs, configurations, procedures and troubleshooting steps.
- Gather customer and stakeholder feedback.
- Coordinate project tasks, timelines and deliverables.
- Drive process improvements and contribute to talent development and interviews.
Required qualifications
- Experience with scripting and automation using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Python or Kubernetes.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools for distributed systems.
- Understanding of networking concepts, security principles and best practices.
- Strong Linux skills across Oracle Linux, RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu or Debian, including administration, package management, shell scripting and performance optimization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
- 10+ years of infrastructure engineering experience focused on AI/ML projects.
- Proven leadership of complex AI/ML infrastructure initiatives.
- Expertise in OCI or similar cloud platforms.
- Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers.
Preferred qualifications
- Strong proficiency in at least one of Python, Rust, Go, Java or Scala.
- Experience designing and managing infrastructure for AI/ML or HPC workloads.
- Understanding of TensorFlow, PyTorch or scikit-learn and production deployment is a plus.
- Familiarity with DevOps, continuous integration, deployment and monitoring tools is preferred.
- Strong experience with high-performance computing and GPU systems is preferred.
- A Master’s degree is preferred.
