Role overview
The Principal Construction Project Manager is responsible for overall success across multiple significant-value data center construction projects.
The role provides project oversight, direction, and strategy across safety, schedule, scope, budget, and quality.
Key responsibilities
- Lead professionals delivering major capital construction projects safely.
- Manage scopes, resources, estimates, budgets, schedules, milestones, quality control, and risk mitigation.
- Oversee general contractors, specialty contractors, testing agencies, project controls, and MEP teams.
- Coordinate architecture and engineering activities with design managers.
- Support environmental, entitlement, and permitting requirements.
- Manage sourcing, vendor selection, contracts, project meetings, reporting, documentation, and change control.
- Manage project financial controls, payment applications, claims, drawings, specifications, field installations, and remediation.
- Lead safety, insurance, liability, constructability, and value engineering activities.
Knowledge and expertise
- The role requires broad expertise in highly specialized fields and recognition as a subject-matter expert.
- The position requires leadership of company objectives and evaluation of complex or unique project issues.
