Role Overview
General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada is seeking a Principal AWS Cloud Engineering leader to own the design, build, and operation of a sovereign AWS Canada estate.
The role is the anchor of the organization’s AWS capability and serves as the definitive AWS technical authority across the CDIO organization.
The successful candidate will lead the transition from a managed-service provider to a sustainable in-house operating model.
Landing Zone Architecture
- Own the architecture, build, and lifecycle of the sovereign AWS Canada landing zone.
- Implement multi-account structures, account vending, and organizational guardrails using AWS Organizations and Control Tower.
- Design platform networking with VPCs, Transit Gateway, and Direct Connect connectivity to on-premises and enclave environments.
- Establish platform standards, reference patterns, and a roadmap for a controlled environment.
Security and Sovereignty
Design and enforce identity, encryption, logging, and monitoring controls using IAM, KMS, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, and Security Hub.
Ensure compliance with CMMC 2.0, ITAR, EAR, and Controlled Goods Program requirements.
