Primary Purpose

Architecture Ownership

• Own target-state architecture for application and integration domains.
• Define, publish, and maintain reference architectures, design patterns, and architecture standards.
• Drive best practices across application design, API architecture, event-driven integration, and B2B messaging.
• Lead architecture and design reviews, make architecture decisions, and communicate trade-offs.

Modernization and Enterprise Alignment

• Drive the application and integration modernization roadmap.
• Lead migration from legacy BizTalk middleware to Azure Integration Services and iPaaS platforms.
• Define API Management strategies and manage lifecycle and obsolescence planning.
• Guide divisional teams to align with enterprise principles, target-state architecture, shared platforms, and assets.
• Contribute to enterprise architecture practices, standards, technology radar, and architecture principles.

Technical Leadership

• Serve as the technical counterpart to Engineering Managers and establish technical direction and quality standards.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance, third-level design support, and mentoring to engineering teams.
• Evaluate platforms and vendor solutions, assess technology fit, and drive build-versus-buy decisions.
• Shape AI-driven and AI-assisted software development approaches.

Core Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is mandatory.
• At least 10 years of experience in software, application, and integration architecture.
• Experience in large-scale, multi-division, or global organizations.
• Strong expertise in API Management, event-driven architecture, messaging patterns, and B2B integrations.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Integration Services, Logic Apps, Service Bus, API Management, and Azure Functions.
• Strong application architecture background across .NET, React, Node.js, and cloud-native architectures.

Technical Experience

• Experience modernizing legacy environments through BizTalk migrations, middleware modernization, or iPaaS implementations.
• Experience managing application lifecycle and technology obsolescence.
• Required technical skills include EDIFACT, X12, AS2, SFTP, LeanIX, and AI-assisted development approaches.
• Industry experience in logistics, shipping, or supply chain is preferred.
• A master's degree in a technical or engineering discipline is preferred.
