Working for our team, you can truly make a difference. We are currently looking for a Press Operator Assistant to join our team. The Press Assistant role is responsible for the setup and support of printing presses in accordance with the printing specifications and customer requirements/expectations. Why work at MCC: Generous benefits package including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, and 401(k) Paid Holidays: New Year's, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day Responsibilities: Comply with all company and safety policies and procedures Attains and maintains all defined job objectives related to the planning and execution of all jobs and quick changes Assists in the performance of all external make-ready operations in preparation for changeover activities (changing from one label job to another) Assists in the performance of all external clean-up activities following changeover Cleans ink pans and ancillary equipment Strips plates from cylinders Locates dies to and from the press May be required to work with a press operator to view labels with the assistance of a strobe light Comply with the quality assurance specifications of the customer and MCC May be required to complete the quality assurance sheet and associated documentation Responsible for the cleanliness of machinery and the organization of the workspace Responsible for working overtime when needed and as assigned Related duties as assigned Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Print shop experience helpful, but not required Ability to communicate and interact well with others (verbally and in written form); seen as a team player Ability to read and understand a job ticket Ability to read a ruler and understand measurements (able to pass a ruler test) Ability correctable to 20/20 (able to pass an eye test) Ability to differentiate colors (able to pass a color test) Ability to input data into the computer Ability to work in a team environment with a high sense of urgency for on-time completion of assigned activities Self-motivated with the ability to stay focused and follow instructions Ability to stand and move around the press area for long periods of time The physical demands require standing, using hands to feel and touch, reaching with arms and hands, and talking and hearing. This position requires frequent walking. Occasionally, an employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision requirements are close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
