Role overview
The Presales System Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Sharjah.
The role supports the sales team with technical expertise across ELV, AI, and robotics solutions.
The position is client-facing and works closely with sales, project, and engineering teams.
Core responsibilities
- Analyze customer requirements and design system architectures.
- Prepare technical proposals, document solutions, and contribute to bid responses.
- Deliver product demonstrations and presentations to prospective clients.
- Validate solution feasibility, estimate resources, and align proposed systems with customer needs and regulatory standards.
- Respond to technical inquiries and customize solutions.
- Assist with proof-of-concept deployments and pre-deployment validation.
- Maintain knowledge of AST’s product portfolio and relevant industry technologies.
- Provide market and client feedback to product and engineering teams.
Technical qualifications
- Strong systems engineering and systems design skills are required.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and technical support is required.
- Experience in system administration for servers, networks, and related infrastructure is required.
- Knowledge of ELV systems including CCTV, access control, video intercom, gate barriers, structured cabling, and public address is required.
- Familiarity with security and local regulatory standards is required.
- Experience with AI-based solutions, automation, robotics, presales, or customer-facing technical roles is referenced in the qualifications.
Education and collaboration
- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
- Relevant certifications in networking, security, or systems engineering are an advantage.
- The role requires strong communication, presentation, documentation, collaboration, and multi-engagement management skills.
