Role Description
The position is an Estimation Engineer focused on CCTV, ELV systems, smart automation, interior design, and fit-out works.
The role is full-time and on-site in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The engineer will review project requirements and prepare accurate BOQs, cost estimates, supplier quotations, technical solutions, and competitive proposals.
Key Responsibilities
- Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, BOQs, and client requirements.
- Prepare quantity take-offs, BOQs, cost estimates, commercial proposals, material take-offs, and manpower estimates.
- Estimate CCTV, access control, intercom, structured cabling, networking, Wi-Fi, AV, SMATV, and other ELV systems.
- Estimate home automation, KNX, Zigbee, smart lighting, HVAC integration, smart access, and related automation systems.
- Estimate interior and fit-out works, including gypsum, ceilings, partitions, flooring, painting, joinery, glass works, lighting, electrical works, furniture, and finishes.
- Conduct site visits and surveys when required and review architectural, interior design, MEP, electrical, and ELV drawings.
- Obtain and evaluate supplier, subcontractor, and manufacturer quotations and prepare cost comparison sheets.
- Prepare technical submittals, compliance statements, datasheets, technical proposals, exclusions, assumptions, risks, and variations.
- Support sales during technical discussions, client meetings, and tender clarifications.
- Support value engineering, maintain pricing databases, and hand over approved scope and commercial assumptions to project teams.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree or diploma is required in electrical engineering, electronics, telecommunications, computer engineering, civil engineering, architecture, interior design, or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience in ELV estimation, CCTV and security systems, automation, and/or interior fit-out estimation is required.
- Strong knowledge is required in CCTV, access control, structured cabling, networking, intercom, AV, and related low-current systems.
- Knowledge of smart home and building automation systems, including KNX, Zigbee, lighting control, HVAC integration, and smart access, is highly desirable.
- Good understanding is required of interior and fit-out materials, construction methods, finishes, joinery, gypsum, ceilings, flooring, electrical works, and associated trades.
- Candidates must read architectural, interior design, MEP, electrical, and ELV drawings and be proficient in Microsoft Excel and AutoCAD.
- Experience with estimation, quantity take-off, or project management software is an advantage.
- Knowledge of UAE regulations and authority requirements is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, and deadline-management skills are required.
- English is required; Arabic and previous UAE or GCC project experience are advantageous.
Preferred Experience
Candidates with hands-on estimation experience across multiple disciplines are preferred.
Preferred coverage includes CCTV and security, ELV and ICT, structured cabling, access control, intercom, networking and Wi-Fi, AV, home automation, KNX and Zigbee, electrical works, interior design, joinery, gypsum and ceilings, and fit-out works.
The ideal candidate can independently take a project from drawings and tender documents through quantity take-off, supplier RFQs, costing, BOQ, technical proposal, and final commercial quotation.
